0:18.0	Have you ever read a passage in the Bible and you find yourself thinking, this sounds like the exact opposite of what I believe.
0:21.0	You know you've hit one of those passages when you're in a Bible study and people start arguing
0:26.3	about it, or they start saying that the author of the passage means exactly the opposite of
0:31.6	whatever he's saying.
0:33.0	One of those passages is 1st John 3.
0:36.0	Let's read a bit of it together,
0:37.5	and we'll see if we can get our heads around it.
0:39.5	Verse 4, everyone who sins breaks the law. In fact, sin is lawlessness, but you know that he, he's talking
0:47.1	about Jesus, appeared so that he might take away our sins, and in him is no sin. Okay so far so good we believe everything that's been said but then
0:56.0	John says something wild. verse six no one who lives in him keeps on sinning no one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
1:06.5	Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.
1:14.4	The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from
1:18.7	the beginning.
1:19.8	The reason the son of God appeared was to destroy the Devil's work.
1:24.0	No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in them.
1:29.9	They cannot go on sinning because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the
1:35.1	children of God are and who the children of the devil are. Anyone who does not do
1:40.1	what is right is not God's child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.
