When I first heard of Dan Levitard and Stue Gots, they didn't have a national show yet.

They were down in Miami and I was working as an update anchor at ESPN 1000 in Chicago

on the Tom Waddle Mark Silverman show, Waddle and Silvy.

And they played a sound bite from the Levitard show of Dan and Stue talking about how Dan

for some reason had bought a Tom Waddle jersey back with Waddle played for the Bears.

And Stue Gots said something to the effective, but why Tom Waddle?

And they went back and forth about his relative mediocrity or average play.

And I was very loyal to Waddle and Silvy and I had never heard of these guys.

And I especially disliked how a guy named Stue Gots, which I then Googled to discover,

was a slang for Weiner without knowing his name was John Weiner or perhaps not caring.

I kind of thought that they were typical radio douchebags.

I thought they were local guys who, you know, you can imagine with the number of shows

that are actually probably called, you know, Bobby and the Weiner or Jimmy and the Big Dick,

that I thought that that's what they were.

And it wasn't until a while later when I started doing national writing and radio and stuff

of my own that I got a call to be on the show and first experience what it was to actually interact with the guys.

But never could I have imagined back when I was doing updates at ESPN 1000

that the two guys talking about the Tom Waddle jersey would end up being such a huge part of my career
