OK OK, we get it’s important but after 160 games of fetch things get a little…well, boring.

In this episode, I’m going to go through 10 ways to play with your dog. And this is just to get you started, it doesn’t stop here, not even close. In reality, there are hundreds of ways to play with your dog. I want you and your dog to get creative and take it from here.

With the cold weather settling in here in NJ I decided to concentrate on indoor activities. It’s easy to take things outside and get all the exercise and entertainment you need. It’s when you’re stuck inside that things get harder.

No matter what activity we do with them, we are entertaining, stimulating, and bonding with them. It’s tiring them out that can sometimes seem impossible. That is why I also focused on ways that will up the exercise and tiring out factor. At the end of the day (literally) what we want is a tired and happy dog!

Your dog will probably have their favorites. I hope you can find something you love, your dog loves AND gets everyone to sleep!

0:35.6	going to talk about how to handle a reactive dog on a leash. So when I say a
0:42.0	reactive dog I mean that dog that while you're walking on
0:46.2	a leash they see something and they start barking at it or maybe they're lunging at it.
0:51.7	Now if your dog's reaction is over excitement, then the same
0:56.1	tips I'm giving here can help you, but this reactive dog where they're barking,
1:00.9	lunging, maybe showing a little bit of aggression is of course the more concerning behavior and the one we want to nip in the bud.
1:09.0	Unfortunately, this is a pretty common behavior.
1:12.9	So if it is happening for you or you're starting to see it happen,
1:16.6	do not take it personally.
1:19.2	Because of course, I'm going to talk about why this starts to happen,
1:23.2	and then give you a few tips on how to handle it
1:26.7	if it's minor or just starting to happen.
1:29.5	Because of course with this type of behavior,
1:32.0	if you try to address it and it's not working or it gets
1:36.8	worse or it's been going on for so long and it's so intense that you're not confident in your ability to control your dog,
1:45.9	then it's really important to call in a trainer.
1:49.3	The good news is, is because this is a pretty common behavior just about every trainer has experience with it.
1:56.0	So this can happen if they see another dog or it's a person or a kid or it's something fast moving like a bicycle or somebody on a skateboard or even a car.
2:09.0	Okay, it can really be anything in their environment that they see, those are just the most common.
2:16.2	And this usually doesn't start to happen until you reach adolescence.
