We begin this morning with a conversation about the world of tomorrow

between an international religious leader, philosopher, an award-winning author

and a young, dynamic, brilliant thinker

who represents the leaders that Waiyu is producing to confront the world of tomorrow.

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks served as the chief rabbi

of the United Hebrew Congregations of the Commonwealth

for 22 years.

Rabbi Sacks has held a number of professorships

at several academic institutions,

including Yeshiva University and King's College in London. His impact ranges far beyond the Jewish community serving as a moral voice throughout the world.

Rabbi Sachs will be engaging in conversation together with Rabbi Ari Lam,

who earned a BA from Yashiba University, and M.A. from University College, London, and the School

of Oriental and African Studies via a full-bright scholarship and rabbinic ordination

from the Rabbi Isaac Al-chanan Theological Seminary. Rabbi Lam, Rabbi Ari Lam,

embodies the insight and the energy that characterizes so many of the future leaders being produced by Yeshiva University.

It is my privilege to welcome them both to the stage. Thank you so much. There was briefly a story several years ago when I lived in London.

I was asked to speak at one of the local synagogues for Chavuot.

And after all of the local synagogues and institutions of Jewish

education had concluded sending out their invitations, the community published a master list of all

the speakers who would be speaking. Now, the Shul's several weeks before Chavuot announced the entire master list, and of Lord Sachs who was Chief Rabbi at the time was given pride of place at the end.

It happened to be that by coincidence my name appeared before his and so in one of the synagogues in which I was attending several weeks before Chavuot when they made the announcement they announced
