What just happened over the weekend?

Hello, everybody.

I hope you had a good sort of restful final weekend of the holiday season. What the fuck happened this weekend?

You know, there are smart people on all sides who will explain what our invasion of Venezuela means, who will explain what's going to happen next,

who will explain regime change, who will explain strategically,

whether it was a smart or a stupid thing to do,

to invade a sovereign nation and kidnap his leader that it's leader there are

you're already probably paying attention to really smart people who will take a look at what

happened over the weekend and give you really smart smart smart takes I just I this Monday I want to

make four points by the way I'm a I'm a former congressman I'm a former

policy guy I'm a former right wing media guy I I'm a policy generalist. I don't mean this as a shot

at myself. I'm not a specialist. I'm not an expert on any one subject. I can talk about a

gazillion subjects. But this show, every time I'm on TV, every time I'm on the radio, every time I'm on a

podcast, and I've always been this way, I spend a little bit of time on what just happened.

I spend a lot of time on what it means, why it's important. That's what I'm going to try to do in about 20 minutes today is give you

uh four overriding points that i think we all need to think about.

And I think we all need to think about these four overriding thoughts pretty damn quickly.

And they all get at, look, we know what happened, right?

The United States of America invaded another country,

committed an act of war against another sovereign nation, kidnapped its leader, and has thrown its leader in one of our jails. That's what happened.
