I'm John Batson with Malcolm Holine Conference of President's major American Jewish organizations, my colleague,

and we're very pleased to be welcoming our colleague, Michael Rubin of the American Enterprise Institute,

who's traveling, but just back from Yemen.

Michael, a very good evening to you,

glass darkly on Yemen,

although they remain in the field of play,

making threats and launching drones and rockets

now and again into the Red Sea and sometimes at Israel.

You've just come out of there.

The Houthis demonstrate an indifference to the threats and the actual

bombing campaign run by both Israel and then there was a campaign by the United States. What is holding

them up, Michael? What is their backbone built of? Good evening to you. Good evening. Well, bottom line up front, what I saw in Yemen is that the

Houthis are a lot weaker than we think they are. The problem is that too many of our supposed

allies are willing to cut deals, and so the Houthis are surviving. The Houthis are receiving weaponry in three main

ways. The first is through the port of Houdata under a United Nations system, which is remarkably

parallel to what we saw in the Gaza Strip with UNRah, where in theory it's

independent, but in reality, the Houthis simply steal all the aid and money and receive the

weaponry, much like Hamas did when UNRah was running things in the Gaza Strip.

Then we think of Oman, the Sultanate of Oman, as an ally, but a lot of the smuggling

actually goes across Oman, which wants a weak Yemen. And the third way the Houthis receive

weaponry is simply by flying it into the Sana International Airport, although Israel has put a
