And welcome to our year-end episode for 2023. We did it. We got through. We made it all

the way through another year. I'm so proud of all of us. Yes, it only took five years,

but we finally got through 2023. At least five, maybe 10. I don't know how much I've aged

over the 2020s so far. But yeah, so like we did at the end of last year, we wanted to celebrate

the end of the year by talking about something other than a Song of Ice and Fire for once,

just everything we loved, everything we enjoyed across the art world and beyond in 2023.

A lot of great stuff. I think we had a lot of great different things to talk about last year, but I think even more so this year.

Yeah, absolutely.

It kind of feel like 2023 was a breaking of like the last decade of pop culture.

I feel like it's the first year where it's not like completely dominated by Star Wars and Marvel at the box office.

We're seeing a lot more.

It was a big year for some of our favorite film artists, Scorsese, Nolan, Greta Gerwig.

I think we got like multiple Wes Anderson projects this year.

So it's kind of been a treat for all of us who've been following a lot of these directors throughout their careers and getting to see their latest and for some of them at the tail end of their

careers like Hayao Miyazaki and Marty Scorsese. It's good to kind of see like what they're doing

at this point in their careers after, you know, the last 30 or 40 years of their films that we've

seen. Absolutely. Our like our 10th final film from Miyazaki,

he'll just keep retiring coming out again until he outlives us all. So I figure we might as well

just start there, not Miyazaki, but Scorsese, his American counterpart, I guess. The other cute old man,
