That's the nothing personal word of the day. It is Tuesday, August 12th,

2025. Happy birthday to all those who have a birthday on August 12th, second best day of the year for a birthday.

Inescapable is what it is when the Minnesota Twins play the New York Yankees.

It is the single worst feeling in the world to know that you are dominated by a team in a way that is inescapable.

You see, since the start of the 2002 season, the Yankees are 124 and 44 versus the Minnesota twins.

That, of course, includes the postseason when the Yankees are their daddy.

It is a remarkable thing when you can have one team dominate the other with a cast of

totally different characters.

It is beyond explanation.

There is no statistical reason for it because it's not as though you've got a Federer

Djokovic situation, Nadal, where you're playing everybody else and they just win against

everybody. It's just win against everybody.

It's the same single individual.

I never understood when our team would lose to the same team.

We got dominated over a period of years by the Philadelphia Phillies with totally different

players and I'd sit and talk to the players and they would say to me, we don't even think about it

because it wasn't us.

And then all of a sudden it's them.

And once in a while, there's a through thread.

There's a player who's been a part of multiple incarnations of a team who still can't

lose or can't win against a team.
