There's been a lot of encouraging news about COVID-19 vaccine development in recent days.

But how effective will these vaccines be if... vaccine development in recent days.

But how effective will these vaccines be if and when they are approved for mass distribution?

To help answer that question, Yale School of Public Health Professor David Paul Teal and his colleagues have produced a set of detailed mathematical

models aimed at estimating how different factors might affect a vaccination campaign.

Those factors include the efficacy of the vaccine, the speed

with which we can get people vaccinated, the amount of time it takes for the vaccine to

work, the degree to which the disease continues to multiply within the population and the

number of people who agree to get vaccinated.

His research is summarized in a November 19th Health Affairs article entitled,
