Whenever I left after high school, it was a strange feeling because I feel like I was being set free, but I also felt like I was breaking at the same time.

And the reason that is is because she was just the only thing I knew.

You know what I'm saying?

So even though I dealt with all that trauma,

I felt like, okay, I'm getting away from it,

but I'm also like leaving the only thing

that I know even how to manage my anxiety, right?

Like she would help me calm down in certain situations.

She was the one that was we moved together.

We went through a lot together. You know, and so when I left, um, that was tough. And I had to learn

how to lean on God. That, that's when I found cracks. That's when I had to like take a deep dive

into that relationship, um, to sustain me through that time period, right? Because, um, and,

and I, I believe he, he allowed me to go through that because he needed me to know that,

hey, I'm your foundation. Like, I'm going to sustain you through the rest of your life. Right,

regardless of who started with you. I'm going to sustain you for the rest of your life.

And so, yeah, man, we went without talking for 10 years.

And over the last couple of years, as I've grown and as I've, you know, I just turned 30.

And it's funny because now that I'm 30, I'm the age she was when she did whatever she did to me at that time.

And so I look back and I try to put

myself in her shoes. A single parent, you know, she had, she had, she had her stuff that she dealt with.

I don't fully understand why she was the way that she was, but she had her stuff that she dealt with.

And she, you know, she, I think she had a lot of unresolved mental health issues. She never got therapy herself. Yeah. You know what I mean? And so she was just trying to figure out life on her own. She was just going about it the wrong way. And so over the last couple of years, I've tried to have more grace for her. And then after COVID, I realized people are leaving
