Summary
The WTA Finals in Guadalajara have come to life, with Garbine Muguruza keeping her hopes alive, Paula Badosa battling past Maria Sakkari, and Aryna Sabalenka using the crowd's energy and support to summon her best tennis. David and Matt talk about it all and we hear from Iga Swiatek who spoke openly in her press conference about how PMS affected her in the first match.
There's also a review of Tommy Paul's victory over Denis Shapovalov in Stockholm, more excitement about Carlos Alcaraz after he won the Next Gen Finals, and a shocking and disturbing report from China where Peng Shuai has not been heard from since accusing the country's former vice premier of sexual abuse.
The Tennis Podcast is produced year-round, with daily editions during the Grand Slam tournaments. We are on-course to produce more than 150 podcasts for the second year running.

| 0:26.4 | introducing our show. And if you were wondering why Chrissy is introducing the Tennis Podcast, |
| 0:32.0 | it's because it is one of the categories of crowdfunding that we included at the end of last |
| 0:38.3 | year, the start of 2021, when we crowdfund the whole season. And so many of you stepped up to show |
| 0:46.0 | your support for the Tennis Podcast. Chrissy was one of them. And yeah, she came in at the intro |
| 0:51.4 | level and will be reconvening at the end of this year, starting in December in order to |
| 0:58.0 | have people supporting us, hopefully next year for 2022. So you'll get your chance to show |
| 1:03.6 | your support for the show. And yeah, maybe you could be introducing a show or having a shout out |
| 1:08.5 | or having your pet involved because these are the important things, Matt. |
| 1:13.0 | You know, they sure are. They are too are. So otherwise we wouldn't be able to do all this. |
| 1:18.3 | And we want to see your donkeys, etc. And hear your lovely voices at the start of our show. |
| 1:23.7 | So Chrissy, thank you so much. We are convening without Catherine today because she is currently |
| 1:30.7 | in a TV studio or a hair and makeup room getting all ready for the ATP finals, which are due to start |
| 1:39.0 | today this afternoon in Churrin. And Catherine's going to be presenting all of it on Amazon Prime |
| 1:44.8 | video in the UK. We are going to talk mainly about the WTA finals, which has continued with |
| 1:51.6 | another couple of days of play of the last 48 hours in Guadalajara. And a lot's happening. We're |
| 1:59.2 | trying to do it group stage by group stage and we'll continue this theme if we can all the way |
| 2:04.4 | through the ATP finals as well, given that they are overlapping, which I mean, marvellous that |
| 2:10.4 | they're all been played. But my word, not even Matt and I, with basic blanket viewing and multiple |
