The Metroplex is more focused, I would say, on the events of the Dallas Mavericks.

And we have had a flurry here in the last 24 hours where you've got the Daniel Gaffert signing,

giving them flexibility to either have a extremely solid top tier center position going into next year.

Or maybe he gets swung in another trade.

Maybe they add another veteran piece.

Maybe he's what helps get them over the finish line of trying to find another point guard that they're looking for.

Don't know at this point.

We'll have to see what happens.

Then the news comes down that Kyrie Irving

intends to sign a three-year $119 million to stay with Dallas, essentially tearing up that last year,

his player option. And he is going to be here and the core is solidified with him and Anthony Davis for at least the near term

and the clear message from the organization is that we are trying to contend now and we

are doing everything we can to try to fit all of our aspirations into this very narrow window

over the next couple of years and And then the ultimate bailout.

About five weeks ago or so, broadcasts live on the hard line where we quickly went from,

as a show, I know that Ham can speak to this, zero optimism that the Mavericks were going

to get lucky in the draft lottery.

Wasn't even something that was on our radar that outside of moving up,

potentially a pick or two, that that was something that we were pinning our hopes to.

And then Corby tells us, hey, you all need to be paying attention to this

because very clearly they are not just moving up into the single digits

of the draft, but something special is happening here.
