Now it may have been the middle of the night that the tournament kicked off just right with

a record crowd in Auckland to see a massive win for the girls from NZ.

It was a fairy tale start for the football ferns who highlighted plenty of Norwegian

concerns.

And over in Oles the Irish wrap for the party but it was the Matilda's who threw the

biggest shrimp on the Barbie.

It wasn't pretty but they got it done and both hosts have had the perfect start to their

run.

game of this tournament.

Hello Ryan Bailey, yes we didn't get an invite to MLS All Star last night but you're

right I think we probably won out of this arrangement because we didn't have to wake

up in the middle of the night to watch these two games.

I do love a world cup we'll see if I still feel that way when I have to wake up at

6am tomorrow to watch Philippines against Switzerland but yes I am very excited about the start

of this tournament.

There is just I don't know what it is there's like a regal quality to the to a world cup
