by my good pal and producer Mike Zimmerman. Mike, how are you doing today?

I'm doing great, John. I'm really excited for this women's world cup coming up. It should

be a good one.

It should, indeed, and you've already given us a teaser as to what the episode is going

to be about today. We are joined by two very special guests. So, if Chloe Morgan, who's

a former professional goalkeeper, but is now with us at the athletic working as an editor

and then Jesse Parker-Humpfries as well, a freelance women's football writer, who's often

found on a number of different outlets, which we will talk about in the episode itself.

But, as you said, Mike, this is all about the women's world cup, which is coming up

a few days away. What were the things that you took away from this episode?

Yeah, John, the two things for me that Jesse and Chloe were talking about is one

Chloe was talking about how Spain is so talented yet they can't seem to put it together

on the pitch. I find that fascinating because you go through the roster and it's star after

star, world class player after world class player, and they just can't seem to get past

like the quarter final stage. It's almost similar to the Spain men's squad that where you

were kind of used to seeing before the 2010 tournament where Spain just couldn't get

over that quarter final hump. And then what Jesse was talking about, I'm actually excited

to see what the audience thinks and how they react to Jesse's hot take about the United

States and where they could finish.

Yes, absolutely. And there's plenty of content going out on various channels over at

the athletics. So the athletic will be putting up stuff every day during the tournament.
