So let's start today with maybe one of my favorite classic current affairs

archetypes, The Liar on fire that is one of your

favorite around 830 p.m last Saturday February 3rd a 60 year old Charles Michael Calver called

911 and told a dispatcher that his

girlfriend was no longer with us. According to a probable cause affidavit he

told the operator we were having an argument we both were holding a knife and she came at me. This chucklehead

told police that he was cutting onions when his girlfriend public defender

Marsha Linsky told him that he wasn't doing it correctly.

That sparked a physical altercation where Marsha, again this is according to Charles,

pushed a crock pot towards him and came at him with a knife.

At that point, Charles told police he became defensive and

didn't remember the other details.

Conveniently. When authorities arrived on the scene they found

Marsha lying face down on a kitchen floor with a gash on her head and neck. This affidavit

reads the kitchen appeared disheveled with a broken crock pot, some bloody kitchen knives, and food items scattered around like there had been a struggle.

Immediately authorities were not buying Charles's onion story. For one they said that quote the knives on the floor

appeared to be staged as they appeared to be placed next to the victim's body neatly.
