I'd just start picking apart that loss.

But I wanted to start this episode by acknowledging

the passing of Tom Berg. Tom was a staple of the Minneapolis community and he passed away

over the weekend unexpectedly at the age of 46 due to heart failure. Many people knew Tom from the band

self-evident. Others knew him as one of the most respected beer brewers in the state.

But I knew Tom because Tom was a Wolves fan. In 2021, I met Tom along with Dan Herman and Andy Rutledge at Falling Knife Brewing Company.

They had opened Falling Knife in northeast Minneapolis just before the pandemic,

and they were looking to rebuild their business in whatever this kind of post-COVID world

was going to look like. And I remember going in there, it was like middle of the afternoon.

And we all sat around and had some falling knife beers.

And a lot of the conversation was about Johnny Flynn and Ricky Rubio and how Derek Williams didn't work, Mike Miller, whatever.

Just sort of the chaotic misery of their experiences being Wolf's fans.

And I knew that sort of meant that I was amongst friends.

But also in that conversation back in 2021, we talked about a vision, Tom, and the other owner's hat for Falling Knife.

Tom described in that conversation wanting his brewery to be the Wolves Bar in Minneapolis.

And as I reflect on the kind of four years since that meeting, we did that.
