Well, thank you for everybody.

Ben, thank you for that very nice introduction.

And some might have been at mass earlier today when I

signaled the great joy it is for me always to come back here to Notre Dame. I was

here as a squirrely little freshman in 1977 and I came back many years later as a visiting

scholar in 2002 I lived at Moreau seminary but I want to go back to those earliest

days 1977 78. But I want to go back to those earliest days, 1977-78.

It was a great year, by the way, for Notre Dame Sports, you remember.

That's the year football team won the national championship,

and the basketball team was in the final four.

So that was a very cool year to be here.
