here at Word on Fire. As we've talked during the last couple episodes, Bishop Barron

is at the Synod in Rome, which is a big gathering of bishops from around the world to talk

about young people, the faith and vocational discernment. It's occupying most of his

time as you can expect. I think they meet six days a week for roughly seven or eight

hours a day. So his time has taken up a lot with that. But in the meantime, he is sharing

behind the scenes videos and commentaries and more at the website wordfromrome.com. So

updates. Today, though, we're going to be sharing the audio from one of Bishop Barron's

lessons in his new Word on Fire Institute. We've talked about the institute here several

times on the podcast, but it's a new venture that we just launched a couple weeks ago,

aiming to form people in the spirituality, theology and philosophy of the Word on Fire

movement. This institute is an online formation center, which features courses from several

different fellows or experts in the field. And one of those experts is Bishop Barron. Bishop

Barron is teaching a flagship course on the theology of Hans Urz von Balthazar. Van Balthazar

is one of the most important theologians of the 20th century. And if you've listened

to this podcast, you've probably heard his name mentioned at least a few times in this

12-part course within the Word on Fire Institute. Bishop Barron introduces von Balthazar, tells

us who he is, why he's important, and then takes us through some of his major writings
