Welcome back to the Word on Fire show. I'm Brandon Vot, the content director at Word on Fire,

and I'm joined once again by the great Bishop Robert Barron. Bishop Barron, it is always delightful

to be speaking with you. As they say out here, Brandon, Iguelmente, which means same as true

for me and you. So Iguelmente, always a joy to be with you. Let's catch each other up a little

bit on what's been going on. You've been celebrating a slew of confirmations. Tell us about that.

Yeah, it's been a joy. I'm in the middle right now of a confirmation season. Out here in the LARs,

DICs, the Bishops do confirmations pretty much all at one time. So we do it in about two months

after Easter. So a lot of DICs, they'll spread them out throughout the year, and I think it's probably

better we do it this way. You do them all at once. So I have, I think, 37 confirmations to do.

I've done nine, so I'm about a quarter of the way through. And I must say, I've loved them so far.

You know, it's a lot. There's a lot of driving involved for me. And they tend to be pretty long,

because the ceremony itself will be probably an hour and a half. And then there's the pictures

afterwards and a lot of, you know, schmoozing and meeting and all that. But I find them to be really

a joy. Last night, I was right here in Santa Barbara at a parish call our Lady of Guadalupe. And it was

by far the most purely Hispanic liturgy I've done. So it did almost a whole mass in Spanish.

Preach for the most part in English to the kids. But it was a very festive Mexican style liturgy.

So it's been a great ride. And a few more to do. I've got about 24 more to do in the next

still five or six weeks. I remember talking to a bishop one time. And he said, you know,

I love celebrating confirmations, activating the gifts of the Holy Spirit. But the most physically

grueling part was not had nothing to do with the actual ceremony. It was afterward with the pictures.

He said, my mouth hurt after taking hundreds of pictures. Is that the case?

Yes. So the other night I was down at a parish in Oxnard and we had 127 kids confirmed. And so
