Folks, I have told you again and again and again when I'm asked the question.

The biggest challenge in our country is fatherlessness.

And people will say, but what about crime?

What about fill in the blank?

All of that is rooted in fatherlessness.

When my brother worked in the jail, he did everything in law enforcement in over 30 years,

but one of his jobs was in the jail.

And it was at a time when the state of Texas state prisons were overcrowded,

so the state would give a kick back a rebate to the counties

if they would keep people who were supposed to be in prison in the jail.

So you got to see people who weren't in the drunk tank over weekend.

You got to see people who were basically in prison for years.

And one of the things I would go through and I would ask my brother,

and he got to know these guys.

And it was always a common denominator that fatherlessness was a part of the problem.

They didn't have the person who could give discipline, who could be there.

It affects the child in so many different ways.

And as you know, it is a subject that we address often.
