Turn with me, if you would, to Hebrews this evening.

Hebrews chapter 13 and 5.

Hebrews 13.5 says, let your conversation be without covetousness and be content well such things as you have for he has said

i will never leave you nor forsake you let your conversation that word means your manner of life, your way of living, your conduct.

Let it be what?

Without covetousness.

And that's the name of our series, without covetousness.

And when the Lord tells us to live a life completely free from

without any covetousness, should we take that seriously? And that's what we're doing.

In these weeks and days, we are taking this commandment very seriously, and we're not trying to judge each other,

but we're looking to identify any of the ugly stuff in ourselves and get rid of it, and get it out.

Because the further we go into it, I think you can see.

In fact, in the Psalms, it said the Lord abhors the

covetous. Strong words. I mean, it's something he really despises. And it is, Colossians 3 says,

that covetousness is idolatry. It's like falling down and worshiping a golden calf or praying to a rock.

Now that's bad.

And so we should not say, well, I guess everybody's a little greedy now and then.

I guess everybody's little covetous.

Well, that's like to say, well, I guess everybody worships idols a little bit here and there.

Well, no, we should have zero tolerance for covetousness.

And so let me review a little bit for those of you that haven't been with us.
