Hello, friends. Happy winter solstice to you in the Northern Hemisphere, and happy summer solstice to you in the Southern Hemisphere.

This is Molly McCord, and this is Conscious Cool Chic Radio, where every week we look at the astrology and energies of this week.

And today is December 21, 2017, and we celebrate a final turning point of the year.

We have reached a point where the sun is the furthest from the northern hemisphere.

We have the least amount of light and the longest period of night.

And so during the winter solstice, the energy is really focused on this turning inward, coming back to

yourself after the full journey of not only the year 2017, but since the sun started its fresh

journey in the zodiac on the March 21st, the spring equinox.

We have a collective journey throughout the year.

And so it officially begins with the spring equinox, March 21st,

and then it reaches its climax or peak at the summer solstice,

June 21st. Then it comes back to a balancing point for the fall equinox. Equinox means balance

or equal, and that is on September 21st. And then here, on December 21st, we are at the summer solstice.

Now, every one of these points astrologically is when a new season commences.

And so we officially begin winter, where we retreat, we look inward, we reflect, we ponder, we find that

moment of silence and stillness to simply be. And it is a beautiful time right now, and even through the weekend and into the Christmas holiday,

to find that place of stillness.

Hanukkah just completed the Festival of Lights.

We just ended the focus on Sagittarius energy, which is very uplifting and positive.

Sagittarius is about the party and having a good time, going big, celebration, meaning in our life.
