I've been praying for you for this message

for many weeks because after a few decades

in pastoral ministry, here's what I know.

Most if not all of you are experiencing spiritual warfare

and many of you if not most of you you're unaware of it what we're going to do

today we're going to shine some light in that darkness and we're going to give you the ability by the grace of God to win that war.

What I'm talking about is the war for your identity.

In our culture, you'll hear a lot about self-image, self-love,

and self-esteem.

The problems with this are twofold.

One, it's me in reference to me, two, it's not me in reference to God.

And the two most important things that I will establish as a thesis today

that you can ever learn are these two things.
