And I just couldn't create spiritual life on my own.

I wanted to kind of be a good person.

I wanted my good to outweigh my bad.

I was type A, firstborn, president of the youth group.

I just wanted to create my own spiritual life,

but it wasn't until I recognized my need for him,

that then life was created in my soul by the power of the Holy Spirit.
