Summary

We discuss the impact Ferrari’s Belgian Grand Prix rear suspension upgrade could have on its 205 season in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast.

Josh Suttill and Jon Noble join Edd Straw to explain what we’ve seen so far of the changes and what performance it could unlock in the hitherto troublesome Ferrari.

With Ferrari so far winless, we also ask how important it is the team salvages something from the season, and what success would look like in the second half of the year.

The impact of Pirelli’s decision to allocate the C1, C3 and C4 tyres is also tackled, along with what we expect from Red Bull after the upheaval of Christian Horner’s sudden departure.

We also take a look at the world of F2, with only six rounds remaining and the title race starting to hot up.

Well, John, we'll come to you first. It's been quite a fun gap, this, isn't it? We had that frenetic activity early on, and then it's actually felt like there's been actually a bit of a pause for once. Yes, but it's been incredible. I think it's the longest spell. I think a lot of Formula One people have had at home since pre-season testing, which is quite remarkable. I've said to many people, I think a lot of people quite tired around Silverstone and suggesting that the year basically devised into two phases. You're either at Formula One or you're at home recovering from Formula One. So this has been a kind of a nice, a little bit of kind of mini summer break. It's not been quiet because obviously a lot of things happening, but it's been quite good. And I think everyone will be a bit refreshed when they get back in there for spa. Yeah, it's going to be all guns blazing for the spa. Bit of Pest doubleheader. And Josh, good to have you back on the podcast. You're going to be joining us in both of those races. So you've had a brief break and then going to be heading for a couple of weeks of flat out action. Yeah, I can't complain. First time going to spa, so that's a big one off the bucket list. Looking forward to seeing it in person and how it all works. Oh, have you never done spa before? That's interesting. Never done spa, yeah. Top three probably for my bucket list. I predict what will surprise you about Spa is just how steep O'Rouge is. That's the impression I remember. I first went there more than 20 years ago and sort of parked by it. And then you'll see that because that's where the media car park is. It's amazing, isn't it, John, the steepness of O'Rooge. I think even, no matter how many times you go back there, there's always always that moment you think, oh yeah, that is really, really steep, isn't it? Well, it's not just steep, it just looks cool. Every time you get the kind of shuttle bus or you walk in for the media car park, you go into the tunnel that's on that run down to O'Rouge. So you get to see kind of the dip and the climb up to radion. It just looks fantastic.

It looks incredible. O'Rouge. So you get to see kind of the dip and the climb up to Radion. It just looks

fantastic. It looks incredible. I mean, it's not the challenging corner it once was because
