Two items of current news.

One is no news.

There's no verdict in the Penny case, which concerns me. I think he definitely should be

acquitted, and I would have thought maybe the acquittal would come very quickly based on, you know,

the evidence in the case, the lack of evidence in the case, but obviously there are some dispute.

This leads to the possibility of a hung jury or possibly a conviction.

Convictions in cases like this generally are affirmed on appeal because they're very fact-specific

and fact-oriented, but in this case, it might possibly be reversed if there's a conviction.

I guess there's just built-in reasonable doubt about two things, number one, the cause of death,

and number two, whether he acted within his rights to protect other people, whether he overreacted. I don't think this case should have

been brought. I think just bringing the case discourages people from being good Samaritans

and will have people do it. People have done for years walk away when they see something dangerous.

We've seen that happen over and over again and people have died as a result of other

people failing to intrude.
