Will Packer is a major Hollywood movie producer. He produced night school

starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Hanish which is in theaters now and is very funny.

He also produced Girls Trip and Ride Along and The Wedding Ringer and he

executive produced straight out of Compton. But I'm not really sure what a movie producer does.

So I brought him into the studio and I asked him.

It's Will Packer on Touray Show. You have a dream career, but one that most people don't understand. What does a movie producer actually do?

That's true.

Everything you said is true.

And it is a dream.

It's very, very hard.

But so here's what I say. you watch the Oscars and you have all these various

categories right best director and best costumes and score cinematography at the

end of the night the final award goes to best picture and the

producer gets the award for best picture because the producer is responsible for

pulling together all those other categories all those other elements all that other talent in order to make

the total film the best picture so and that's true whether it's movies TV other

content so my job is to pull it all together.

Find a script, project manager.

Get the actors to sign on.

That's right.

Get the right director to come in.

If it's independent, you got to find distribution.
