Summary

Have you ever been sitting in a women’s Bible study when all of a sudden the Bible study curriculum asks a leading question, taking the verses you just read completely out of context, and now you feel confused and upset but like you need to nod your head “yes” to the rubbish you just heard?

0:35.3	and other pet beliefs that we've been programmed with that just keep us stuck in the pits.

0:57.3	book of Joshua and this week we are in the place where the Gibeon Knights tricked the Israelites and when and the
1:05.0	giveion knights tricked the Israelites. And when they realized that the leaders of Israel decided to honor the covenant
1:10.0	they had made with the Gibeonites, and then it asked a question, read Psalm 15 in the NIV, paying special attention to the second half of verse 4.
1:21.6	Think of a time when you have kept a promise you made as a result of
1:26.1	poor judgment how does keeping such a promise honor God and preserve your witness and at our discussion of course the women were saying well this means like the
1:38.4	marriage because like God doesn't promise happiness so that shouldn't be ground of divorce and the
1:47.4	joyfulness that we have is what we have to do and it's so sad that so many
1:52.1	marriages divorce these days now in our churches.
1:57.0	But my question is how else can we interpret this part of the verse because that's always what they say.
2:05.0	Later I thought it was actually maybe sad that they look at the breaking of the marriage but actually not looking at what is the real cause,
2:17.8	how many years has there been suffering in the marriage and that is the ground of the
2:21.9	wars and not just happiness because women don't just
2:26.4	oh I'm not happy and so I'm gonna divorce they just don't do that.
