month. A man and a woman arguing on a residential street in Central Florida, then a single gunshot.

By the time Wildwood Police arrived at the address on South Warfield Avenue, there was already

a woman bleeding in the driveway, four children inside the

house, a rifle on the garage floor, and a suspect making an unusual choice about where to hide.

Wildwood sits in Sumter County, Florida, just south of the village's retirement community.

On the night of Saturday, April 25, 2026 at approximately 11.30 p.m., officers with the Wildwood

Police Department responded to a home on South Warfield Avenue after a caller reported

hearing a man and a woman arguing, and then a gunshot.

According to the arrest report cited by Click Orlando, officers arrived to find a woman

lying in the driveway with a gunshot wound

to her neck.

She was airlifted to a hospital with injuries described as life-threatening.

The blood trail filled in part of what had happened before anyone said a word.
