Summary

With GW3 behind us, and an international break ahead, is now the right time to play a wildcard and reset your FPL fortunes? Josh and Brandon look at the pros and cons of triggering the powerful wildcard button, debating whether it's too early in the season or conversely the perfect opportunity to get out ahead of the competition by bringing in exciting new options in Lukaku and Ronaldo. Manchester United looms large with Bruno coming off of two drab performances, while Mason Greenwood shows he could be a season-keeper. Will their fortunes—along with ours—change with the arrival of the Portuguese superstar? Thanks for tuning in, enjoy the break, and we'll return next week with a proper GW4 preview. Hail Cheaters!

It's going to be, you know, it always comes a little too early that first international break.

This one's a little more fun because we do have a couple of World Cup qualifiers, at least in the, I guess pretty much across the board. You have World Cup qualifiers during this span. And so, you know, the U.S. play three of them. And so I was telling you before we started recording that I need to kind of get myself into a headspace again where I can get excited about the men's team.

We didn't qualify for the last World Cup and it was a real, for many, many, at least for myself. It took me like two full years to kind of get over that. And so now I'm kind of like, all right, like World Cup qualifying is here. Let's get, let's get excited again. Yeah, right. So some FPL managers are going to be focused on their national team sides.

1:31.8

Some FPL managers are just going to say, I deserve a break. I'm going to turn off my football brain.

1:37.3

And other FPL managers are saying, boom, it's wild card time.

1:42.1

I mean, it has been a banner opening of a season for the

1:47.4

quote unquote template players, but now there is just incredible transfer news flying everywhere on

top of Harry Cain's being back in the mix. And there is this temptation to totally upend our teams and possibly even trigger a wild

card so this is what we're going to be talking about on this episode is is this the right

2:09.5

time to wildcard what's your plan josh what's my plan if not now when and what is all this

2:15.8

transfer news bubbling up and these big premium players?

2:19.6

What does that actually mean for our templates as they stand?

2:23.9

Yeah.

2:24.3

I mean, in some ways, like you said, Ronaldo has completely changed the game.

2:29.3

And I think after Game Week 1, many people, I would say the majority of people listen to
