This week, I'll tell you about a case that rocked the

San Francisco Bay Area in early 2001. Dogs are called man's best friend. And if you're like me,

your dogs may be just like family members. But pets are also a responsibility to be taken seriously.

You have to give them love and attention, proper food and nutrition, and exercise as well as training and discipline.

Most people I know are responsible pet owners, but there are always a few who create problems for others,

mainly by not properly training their pets.

This case is an extreme example of that.

Two very large and beautiful dogs were either not properly trained and socialized

or deliberately trained to be aggressive or both.

This point would be debated in the public and the media after this case.

Either way, the result was a tragedy where a young female college coach would lose her life in a shocking way due to the actions of two irresponsible pet owners.

The backstory to this tragic case is so bizarre that it almost seems made up.

But it's all true, and you'll hear all the details in the next two episodes.
