We've got breaking news on a busy Tuesday in the NFL as the commanders have mutually parted ways with offensive coordinator Cliff Kingsbury,

less than a year after the team played in the NFC championship game.

Additionally, defensive coordinator Joe Witt Jr. will not be returning to the team, which is going to start fresh at both coordinator spots under head coach Dan Quinn.

Kings Bear was, of course, hired as a commander's offensive coordinator prior to the 2024 season.

That was Jaden Daniels' rookie year. The two went 14 and 10 together, and Daniels starts compared to 3 and 7 in the 10 games he did not start.

The touchdown interception ratio was 2.6 to 1 and Jaden Daniels starts and 1.6 when he did not start, oftentimes that being Marcus Mariotta.

Whoa. Jaden and this team took a significant step backwards this year. And there was a lot of

reasons why.

But who's going to replace Cliff Kingsbury? Because the third year for the rookie quarterback is the expected year of, hey, there comes this big jump.

And there's some pieces that Washington needs outside of just that. But who's going to fill that role to take Jaden in this offense to the next level?

Throw out names. Josh McCown from Minnesota. Is he ready to take the next step? Grant Udinski, who's the offensive coordinator in Jacksonville, does he want to go become his own play caller? Davis Webb, who's in Denver as the offensive, or excuse me, the quarterback coach, does he take that next step? And then maybe Mike LaFle who had to stop Matt's little brother with the New York Jets now in L.A. Like those are names right now that I think have to be at the top of the list. I'm glad you went with names, Dan, because it feels weird to me. I think weird is the word that I would associate that with. unless Cliff Kingsbury went into the office of Dan and

said, look, man, I want to try to become a head coach again. And the only way I'm going to do

that if I leave this position. Now, again, you look at the record and the graphic that field just

read off, baby face. And it was a lot of success. The injuries are a big part of the loss column for Jay and Daniels as well, not having

them for a large majority of some of these seasons.

So that's the first thing I thought, just weird.
