All right, so if this is unconscious incompetence, this is conscious and competence, I now know.

Lord, I'm now finding out.

What do I need to know that I don't know how to do? What is the skill I need? Where do I need to go?

I never forget the first time I took an offering. Do you know if you're a preacher? There is a science to

take you an offering. I had Kim Clement, the great prophet, the great Elijah of my lifetime comes down, doing a great tent event down in Providence, Rhode Island. And we're there.

We have a tent down there in the city. And the city comes out and the worship is going on.

And Kim lean over and says, Lance, why don't you go take the offering tonight? I said, yes, prophet.

And I went out and I said, we're so honored to have the great prophet here and Kim Clement, and he's made his, he's got his team, he's got a big budget, he's flown them in, and the worship team, and it's all at his own expense.

He's come down here, believing God to take care of him, and I believe that God will raise up in you, the generosity to be able to sew into this ministry and to bless the man of God. And as you sow to the Spirit,

the Lord will bless you. Something like that. I don't want to waste any time or take up any time.

I want the man to be able to be free. So go ahead and pass those offering envelopes right now,

make that checks do, word of life, whatever. We get it done. I sat back down next to him he leans over to me a man that I'm trying to build a

relationship with he says that was possibly the worst offering I've ever heard in my life

that was possibly the worst offering I've ever heard then he added I'll be lucky if I could even

make my airfare with an offering like that.

Now, I, in all my years of pasturing, evidently, never understood the art of taking an

offering. He who had to live by offerings understood the art of taking an offering. He wasn't

manipulating people, he just knew a lousy offering when he heard it.

I was heartbroken because by one opportunity to impress my friend with my skill and maturity,

I had failed to test because I didn't even know there was a skill attached to taking an offer.
