Does God care about your job?

Do you see the spiritual significance to what you do Monday through Friday,

or are you often tempted to view the work week as little more than a paycheck?

Whether you're a pastor, a bricklayer, a farmer, or a stay-at-home parent,

the work you do day in and day out matters to God,

probably more than you realize.

In our interview today, I'm talking with Brian Chappell, President Emeritus of Covenant Theological

Seminary, and the founder of Unlimited Grace Media. He's also the author of Grace at Work,

redeeming the grind and the glory of your job from Crossway.

Well, Brian, thank you so much for joining me today on the Crossway podcast.

Thank you, Matt. I'm glad I can be with you.

So today we're going to talk about a really big and yet seemingly mundane

topic, the issue of work, the work that we do. Most of us, if we have a job, we're doing it

maybe five days a week. Other people maybe have different schedules, but it's just this ever-present

thing, a reality for life,

the work that we do. And I think we're going to get into some of the ways that we can think

Christianly about the work that we do, which is maybe easier said than done. But before we get

into all of that, I wonder if you could start us off by telling us a little bit about your first

job. My very first job. Well, I have to think back on that a little bit. If we're just talking about

mowing the lawn or working in the guard, my father was raised on a farm, and then he went in agribusiness, so he managed many, many farms.
