My younger sister and I have always been interested in the paranormal.

So for my 27th birthday, my sister surprised me with a weekend trip to a small tourist town

about two hours away from our house for a haunted ghost tour of the town's oldest buildings.

It was the beginning of October, so the timing was just right.

For a little backstory, this town is known for its well-preserved 19th century buildings,

and Ulysses S. Grant lived there for a time after the Civil War.

It was also a mining town for Native Americans and settlers.

Today, it is a popular tourist destination for shopping, golfing, drinking, and its haunted

The ghost tour started at a small shop at the end of town, and my sister and I were

quickly gathered in a fairly large group of other paranormal enthusiasts.

The owner of the shop, we all call him Mark, was our tour guide for the evening.

He was a native of the town and knew the ins and outs of every building.
