oh man, where does one even begin to pick over the mess that the Metropolitan Police finds itself in today?

And you know, there are days when I say to you sometimes, not with my tongue

in my cheek, but sometimes it's a little bit performative. I say, I don't know what question

to ask you. It's partly because I haven't given it enough thought. It's sort of, you know,

it's just, it's just absolutely, it's awful. And I think we should step back from the news, you know, the news that we indulge in every day.

The news, we talk about the news.

And just focus instead upon life.

The role that the police play in our lives.

That we're being robbed of something.

And I have so much sympathy for people who have known this for years.

I'm not going to go all sackcloth and ashes on it,

but I have to tell you that when I first

started working here and first started engaging in the towing and throwing of opinion and

conversation, I didn't have the first idea about what it was like to look upon a police

officer as an enemy

or a threat as opposed to an ally.

And it was race initially that ripped the scales from my eyes.

And yet it's only relatively recently that that has also applied to the misogynistic element of policing, the abuses

of women. I can't believe that I grew up as a feminist, for one of a less loaded word,

perhaps, without having a full grass.

Of just the constant noise, threat, violence, abuse that women live with.
