Summary

On this episode of The John Campea Podcast (Episdoe 63 recorded Sunday July23rd 2017) John takes the following viewer emails:4:25 Frans Stal - Could you talk about the Box office performance of Cars 3 it seems absolutely catastrophic for Pixar but no one is talking about it.9:28 Michael Pement - Hi John, love the show! I watch it every day. What are your thoughts on the trailer for Darkest Hour? It looks like Gary Oldman could be getting his first Oscar (though, like you say, we won't really know until we see the movie). Thanks.13:17 Keith O'Neil - Going on what you said about the Force Awakens' opening weekend record, do you think the Last Jedi has a shot at even coming close to it? I think it will ride the momentum from the Force Awakens and come up a little short, maybe around $220 million. TFA had Phantom Menace level hype around it, which I don't think we will see ever again.17:58 Dan Lynn - I noticed you gave your ranking of the Spiderman movies but I want to know whats your ranking of the 3 actors to play Spiderman? I remember when Civil War had just hit theaters and you said it was too early to say Tom Holland was the best Spiderman portrayal but now he has had a spidey movie all to himself how do compare him to Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield?23:49 Duncan Butler - My question is regarding Bladerunner 2049, not to spoil anything from the original film but do you think we'll get a better idea of who Harrison Ford's Deckard is in this new film? Also, I know you aren't the biggest Bladerunner fan, but how are you excited for this sequel?27:27 Chris Flener - Do you think Avengers Infinity War will be the movie where we finally get to see and hear Captain America yell out his famous line "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE"? podcast on this fine Sunday. I'm of course your host John Campia and you may have

0:11.9

noticed I didn't have any podcasts up this week because like I mentioned on my

0:16.1

social media I was gone I was down in San Diego California for Comic Con and I wasn't able to bring like all my gear and everything I would have needed to do and I certainly didn't have the time to do like full versions of the podcast while I was down there.

0:30.0

So I just had to put the podcast on hold, I did as many videos as I could.

0:34.0

And I couldn't bring all my gear.

0:36.5

So all the videos you saw me shoot from down there at ComicCon.

0:42.0

I actually shot those videos on my cell phone. I shot the

0:45.3

videos on my cell phone I did bring this audio recorder right here that you can

0:49.4

see I brought the audio recorder so I could still have some decent audio

0:51.9

but I just didn't have the

0:53.6

resources and I had to bring this little laptop that I have and it's incredibly slow at

0:58.3

rendering compared to like the machine I have behind me. So like to render out a five minute video takes about 20 minutes.

1:06.0

So to render out like a half hour podcast or 20 minute podcast would take like an hour and a half to two hours so I just

1:15.2

didn't have that kind of time so I thought you know what I'll just pick up on the

1:17.6

podcast when I get back and I am now back and one of the interesting things that I had to do down in San Diego, California, was, and first

1:27.9

of all, I had a great time at Comic Con this year. I love going to San Diego Comic Con. I just like being there because and you might have heard me mention this before but there's something that's incredibly good for the soul.

1:44.4

Being around 100 plus 1,000 people

1:48.6

who are crowded in the streets and crowded

1:51.2

in a convention center.

1:52.8

And everywhere you go, everybody's smiling,

1:56.7

and everybody's happy, and everybody's having a good time
