Yes, strong manhood is now considered toxic, but what happened?

We're going to take a look backwards at the feminist movement and other ideologies that have

shaped our view of manhood and womanhood, and we're also going to talk today about how we as

women, as Christian women specifically, can fight against the ideas of toxic manhood,

and instead encourage and affirm a godly biblical version of manhood within our homes,

within our communities, and within our churches. And to help me unpack all of this,

these huge topics today, I have an expert guest, Dr. Owen Straun, who is an author,

theologian, professor, and dad. And he wrote the book, The War on Men, why society hates them,

Thank you. What an honor to be with you. I appreciate your patience with me and making this

happen. And it's great to talk to you, Kristen. This is going to be a conversation that we have not

had from this angle, specifically on manhood, but for the purpose of helping us as women,

understand how we have contributed to this idea of toxic masculinity,

taking a look back, like I said, on the feminist movement and really evaluating some of the things

that we believe as Christian women without even realizing it, that without even realizing that

those ideologies aren't rooted in scripture, they're not rooted in God's word. But before we dive

into all of that, I have to say, the first time I heard you speak, it was years ago, I was at a

biblical counseling conference. I think it was the ACBC conference, maybe a decade ago. I don't know,

but you were talking all about genesis and you were unpacking God's design for the man and the

woman, specifically. And I had never heard it put so eloquently, so passionately. It was like,
