I've done a thousand pre-ups in my life.

But out of the thousand pre-ups, I've set up for clients in my life,

only seven have come to me for divorce.

Does that mean?

Does that mean pre-nups lower the chances of a divorce?

If the pre-nup forces you to pre-plan your marriage and your life, yes, it does decrease chances because you're having the tough conversations up front. Why am I sharing this with you? Last week I have conversation. A couple comes up to me. They say they want to have dinner with me. It's one of our employees that works with us. They want to have a conversation with me to talk about their planning. Think about getting married, family kids, all this stuff. Hey, we want to get ready for this, right?

I said, no problem.

What most people don't know, you don't see what I do for a living, just like when people come here in this 11-acre property with 150-something employees working just on this media company, I had no clue what you do for a living. I thought you're just a podcaster or content creator or a YouTuber. I built an insurance business, nationally 50 states, we've licensed 60,000 insurance agents. I sold it for multi-nine figures three years ago.

One of the most important things I would do when I would see an agent coming up that had

a shot of doing something big with their lives, I would do a planning immediately with them

and their spouse, girlfriend, fiance, future husband, future wife, or their newlyweds, I would sit down and have a meeting with them. And we would sit down and have the meeting, we'd have two conversations together. We have the how and we have the why. Okay. And a why to me was where we would start off. I was just, tell me about your dreams. What kind of a life do you guys want to live? What do you mean? Well, go five, ten years from now, how big of a life

do you want to live? What do you mean? How many kids do you guys want to have? Oh, we want to have four kids. Okay, no problem. You want to have four kids. We do. Yeah, we want to have four kids. Okay, great. So four kids, do you want to put them in private school or public school?

We would like to put them in private school. Okay, great. So you want to put them in private school or public school?

So private school for four kids at $500 a month is $6,000 a month. $6,000 a month is after-tax money. I said, do you know what you need to make in

pre-tax money to have $6,000 of after-tax money? I don't know. What do we need to make?

Depending on 30 or 40 percent of tax bracket you're in, you need to make roughly $9,000.

So you need to make $9,000 just to be able to put your four kids in a private school. They look at each other. Are you serious? Yes. I said, now, if you want to have four kids, would you like each of them to have their own bedroom? Yes. What kind of a house would you like to have in the next five, ten years? We'd like to live in a five bedroom house. I said, great, okay, five, six bedroom house.

What does it go for in an area like this within a five mile radius?

Oh, we've looked at it.

What's the number? It's one and a half million dollars. Okay, great. So one and a half million dollar house. I said, do you know what a mortgage payment is on a one and a half million dollar house?

No, we don't know what it is on a one and a half million dollar house.
