On today's episode, why is there MAGA?

Four years ago, right around this time, COVID was raging, and I said the Democrats had to nominate Bernie.

I said we needed a counter-revolution to the Trump revolution.

We needed to reclaim the workers. I said the Democratic Party was perceived as out of touch elitists. We needed to reclaim not just the

working class, but people who have fallen through the cracks appeal to america's better angels the way bobby

kennedy did i said that's how you win big

and i said

that the way to beat maga

is to address

the americans who have fallen through the cracks with real populism, not the faux populism

that gives rise to fascism. That's what Victor Orban, that's what Donald Trump uses, faux populism.

Instead, my party chose Biden over Bernie, and I got in line, and so did Bernie. We all got behind

Joe Biden because we know that he would be much better than Donald Trump.

And while Joe Biden was not my first, second, third, or fourth choice,

he has gotten more done for the working class and the people falling through the cracks since any president since Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Joe Biden has temporarily lifted more people out of poverty than Lyndon Baines Johnson.

And yet, I sit here this morning looking at the polls that seemed to suggest that Trump is capturing way too

many members of the working class and the lower middle class. Now, I've become very protective

of Joe Biden. I think his age is an asset. I miss my grandfather. Yeah, he was a little

slow as he got older, but I would love to hear him talk and give me advice again. Joe Biden is our

grandfather, and I am getting very protective of him.

Our economy still doesn't work for everyone, but that is not Joe Biden's fault.
