0:07.0 | I found some interesting information. I want to share with you the American Diabetes Association. |
0:13.0 | 1970, we're recommending 45% of the total calories carbohydrates. |
0:20.0 | 20% protein, 35% fat. |
0:25.0 | Then, in 1986, it increased to 60% of the total calories carbohydrates. |
0:34.0 | So it went from 45 to 60, and it's interesting because in the 70s you didn't see the obesity that you see right after the 80s and the 90s. |
0:42.0 | So here we have this recommendation of more carbohydrates. |
0:46.0 | Then in 1994, they still kept the 60%, but they were more flexible with their plan. |
0:53.0 | They allowed more added sugar and sucrose to be a part of these calories right here. |

1:04.0 | So then the Medical Association really gets the information about diabetes from the experts here. |
1:11.0 | So it filters down through the medical industry, and you cannot fix diabetes with this many carbohydrates. |
1:19.0 | It's impossible. So what they have to do is they have to manage diabetes. |
1:23.0 | So that's all about balancing their food with the medication. |
1:27.0 | And making sure that the complications of diabetes, which is hypoglycemia, doesn't occur because that's dangerous. |
1:33.0 | So you have to keep feeding them to keep the sugar up. |
1:35.0 | So it's all about keeping that sugar medication balanced. |
1:39.0 | Then we have to balance the lipids, which is coming from the high levels of insulin with medication. |
1:44.0 | Good thing we have medication for that. |
1:46.0 | That we can have medication for the high blood pressure and other complications of diabetes. |
1:51.0 | We can balance that with meds. |
1:53.0 | And then as far as your wake goes, it's all about energy balance of eating less and exercising more. |
