Four minutes after 12 is the time, and indeed mystery hour, is what concerns us until one o'clock.

And if you're new to Mystery Hour, you'll indulge me, I'm sure, as I explain briefly what it involves.

It's the weekly opportunity, if you like, to get an answer to a question, any question you want, as long as it's not boring, or one that we've answered relatively recently. And the reason we do it, the reason we do it is simple. We like to remember what it was like to live in a world where intellectual satisfaction wasn't achieved by simply typing something into Google, where books and learning, conversation and absorption of knowledge over decades, over generations, was responsible for our knowledge base, as opposed to computer databases.
