All right, we're in 1 Kings, chapter 21 in the Old Testament. We're continuing in our study of the life

of a prophet of God during a dark season in Israel's history that men's name is

Elijah today's question is why do good things happen to bad people and bad things

happen to good people how many of you it feels like the bad guys are winning.

It's because the bad guys are winning.

We'll deal with that in a moment.

So let me set up the storyline of Elijah.

It's about 3,000 years ago in the nation of Israel,

and God set up a government that was supposed

to represent him and bring truth and justice to the people.

Ruling and reigning was a king named Ahab and his demonic

demonic queen named Jezebel, his wife.

And they ruled and reigned together.

We're going to learn a lot about them today.

But what they sought to do was to impose an anti-God, we could say an anti-Christ

agenda across all of the culture. And what they did is they overtook government,

they overtook education and closed the believing schools.
