One of the fundamental qualifications given for church leadership in the New Testament is that we must have men

who know what it means to be a father. If we continue to ignore the obvious, it gets pretty

complicated because we don't understand how imitation governs the world

We have neglected one of the fundamental realities that we are supposed to imitate as a result everything downstream from that goes to pieces also.

Consider Paul's words to Timothy.

He must manage his own household well, with all dignity,

keeping his children submissive,

for if someone does not know how to manage his own household,

how will he care for God's Church, 1st Timothy, 3, 4, and 5.

Within the Church, spiritual leaders are fathers to their congregations.

One of the central qualifications for a father in a congregation

is that he is able to demonstrate for the people what a godly effective father can do in the home.

Instead of this, we have decided to substitute three years of graduate study.

The result we have gotten should not have been a surprise to us.
