Good morning. It's three minutes after 10 and you're listening to James O'Brien on LBC. I had what,

I suppose, must be described as an anxiety dream last night and I'd forgotten how to speak. The light came

on in the studio and I couldn't get any words out of my mouth. So the first thing to say this morning

is, oh, thank goodness for that. Everything seems to be in full working order. The second thing to say is we're conducting, I think, a world exclusive.

I can't pretend I've checked, but I doubt anyone else has been daft enough to try this before.

We are in the company of the magnificent political cartoonist, not just a political cartoonist.

He does everything from Phoebe Bridges, album covers and artworks, right through to book illustrations,

but perhaps best known for his work on the Observer newspaper and someone of whom I'm a very big fan, Chris Riddell, the cartoonist, in a world exclusive, never seen before in the history of radio,

will be rendering the second two hours, the second and third hours of today's program, in cartoon form live while you can watch on Global Player.

I'll be giving you more details of that as we approach 11 o'clock.

But we begin with something that occurred to me yesterday.

Because it's one of those bizarre moments where something that I suspect is

bleeding obvious, as they say, had never actually fully struck me before.

It's partly linked to the sanctions that were announced yesterday.

I think it's four years since Romano Bramovich was sanctioned in America,

which is something most people in this country probably didn't know,

such is the nature of, I don't know, a kind of,

a national myopia.

I'm not sure.
