Crisis in the Roman Catholic Church. If you do, you're probably right.

Recently, Father Fabio Rossini, who is the vocations director for the Diocese of Rome,

said that the declining number of vocations is due to a general lack of Catholics and faithful Catholic families.

This is all according to my favorite Catholic website,

LifeSight News. So what we have is a diagnosis of a rationale for a problem. We all agree

about the problem. I taught at Catholic high school back in California that had so, so few vocations.

It produced almost none.

I mean, it was bad.

I'm not going to say how many because one, I'm not sure.

Two, I think I know, but it's a very, very paltry number.

This is not a unique situation.

This is part of the Church Universal's crisis.

So when Father Fabio Rusini, the vocations director of the Archdiocese of Rome,

says that there's a problem, a crisis in the Roman Catholic Church,

and it involves a general lack of vocations. Absolutely. But when he says that the declining

number of vocations is due to a general lack of Catholics and faithful Catholic families,

I must demur.
