Hello from Washington. I'm Chuck Todd, and this is the Chuck Todd cast. So it is the final countdown to timestamp this. It's Thursday. It's Halloween. We are less than five days until Election Day. Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, they are multiplying their visits to specific parts of specific states, although Donald Trump is going to a few states that are not in the final seven battlegrounds.

We'll talk about that in a few minutes.

But both campaigns are looking to win some combination of electoral votes that gets them to the magic number of 270.

And as I've been saying for the last couple of weeks here on the Toddcast, it is time for the heavyweights. My guest today is a heavyweight champion himself, Mr. Steve Kornacki. He's, of course, NBC's national political correspondent. He'll be the man on the big board for MSNBC all through election night. And I believe you can just put them in like a red zone box and follow

1:27.3

Hey, Chuck, good to be here.

1:29.4

Let's start with the annoying question that I get, and I know you get, but I'm just curious of

1:34.4

what your elevator answer is. Where are we? And what scenarios are you thinking are the most likely?

1:47.0

Well, I tell everyone, I finally got to narrow down to two.

1:51.4

That's my stock answer when they ask how it's going. Two candidates. Yeah. It's going to be one of two candidates. A lot of work to get there. Right. No, look, I think we know. One thing about Trump's coalition that's emerged in the polling is that there's a lot of voters who either

2:01.8

don't have a history of voting or who rate their enthusiasm for this election at the lowest

2:08.6

end of a 10-point scale. So does he convert that coalition into an actual election coalition?

2:15.2

And if he doesn't, you know, there's, I think, an opening for a Harris

2:19.5

advantage emerges, you know, is it possible that the polling is once again missing

2:24.5

demographically and geographically specific group of voters, non-college white voters, blue-collar

white voters in the northern tier of the battlegrounds? And in that case, you know, a tide
