So Liverpool triggered the option on Alison's contract to extend him until 26-27.

I just had the assumption when Liverpool signed Georgie Mamma-Dashvilly in the summer just gone.

The idea would be there's a year on the bench, and then he becomes Liverpool's number one.

Now, this doesn't necessarily stop that from happening.

It maybe protects Alison's value a little bit. Yeah. The idea, I don't know, the idea that Mamadashville is going to be on the bench for the second year. I know we spoke recently, the conversation with Liverpool's official channel, and he's speaking about, you know, he's being patient, but obviously he will want to play at some point. Does that change anything in your mind whatsoever are we expect an alison perhaps to stick out this contract or is this

more of a case of well obviously it helps lib pool it helps him maybe get a transfer for you as well

because yeah to go back to mamadashvili as a back up for two years i'm not sure why he would

have signed up for that yeah at the time when he joined yeah but we we spoke me and that on last week's show about this Allison situation and saying,

you know, the ball's very much in Liverpool's courts because they can just decide to trigger

the option and keep them at the club for the next year. Obviously there would have been

consultation over that with Alison himself. They wouldn't have just gone up to him one day and say you're sticking around the next year.

But we had the chance to speak to Alison.

It was maybe about 18 months or so now, maybe a bit longer.

And he was very adamant in that he would stay at Liverpool as long as they wanted them.

He loved life at the club,

and we did admit that there was interest from the Middle East, and that is something you

always have to consider because of the mind-boggling numbers that were put in front of them,

but he always gave off the impression during that conversation, and in anything you've ever

seen him on since, really, that he's hugely happy at the club,

loves life on Mayside, and has settled with his family. So, you know, we've been asking me, I'd keep Alison Beckett into his 40s, you know, he's the greatest goalkeeper. I think, you know, people of our generation have ever seen at Liverpool, and, you know, he's probably in the top two or three of all time, isn't he? So, you know, it's good news on that front.
