And welcome to Nomad Extra.

What we thought we'd do in the intervening fortnight between the usual

Nomad podcast. It is just give you a little bit of an insight into what we're up to and we thought

we'd begin that by sharing a little bit about us as five individuals and we're going to begin

by chatting to Mr Tim Nash. Hi Tim.

Hi Nick.

We're here in the sunny outdoors with school children playing in the background,

overlooking a sea of grass enjoying the sun.

Having just enjoyed a nice beef and tomato sandwich.

And sausage roll and a sprite to wash it down.

So Tim, tell us a bit about you particularly what would be interesting to know is how is it is your understanding of church and mission how has that

been shaped by your sort of formative experiences of church well I grew up in a Methodist church, went to Methodist

Sunday school, did lots of cut in and sticking and making of face masks and things, which

was all great fun. But then I can't remember what age it was, but I got dumped in the Sunday

service, meant absolutely nothing to me, so I left. And then I just kind of drifted in and out

of church a bit as a teenager. I think one of the sort of first

significant things that happened was I was encouraged to go along to a Baptist church, youth group,

with some friends that I'd met. And it wasn't a hugely positive experience. And I think a lot of

the experiences I had then, I've been spending the rest of my Christian life, so almost trying to

undo really, in that it just didn't sort of seem like an easy fit.
