podcast with Joe Lample, the Joe behind Joe Gardner.com and I think for those of you who either may not have heard about Joe in the past

which I find hard to believe but if that's the case then maybe we can go a little

bit Joe into kind of your history I would be curious myself to kind of know if you grew up gardening

since you were very very young or kind of how you got into it and then your progression and how it actually

became your career how it became what you do for a living so maybe

you could bring us back for a little bit.

Got it excellent I love that so yeah thanks for asking Kevin I grew up in in Miami, Florida where everything grows. It's tropical it's beautiful and you don't have to be a great gardener to think you're a great gardener, but I didn't have I didn't have a family of gardeners. I was the youngest of four boys and my dad he's the guy I would call the weekend warrior.

He's the guy that was the mow and blow guy and the you know he edged the driveway and

trim the bushes and I just followed him around on Saturdays because I had nothing else to do.

But one day, one of those Saturdays at the end of the day he had done all his work and I was still outside running around and he was inside cooling off.

And I broke a branch off of one of my, one of his... still outside running around and he was inside cooling off.

And I broke a branch off of one of my,

one of his shrubs that he just got through working on.

And I'm like, oh, no, I don't want to get in trouble.

So I took the broken branch and I just shoved it into the ground right at the base of the plant that he had trimmed and I covered it up with some soil.

You know, I didn't know that that would do anything. I just didn't want to get caught.

So I just caught, hid my evidence. But But and I forgot about it. You know,

went about my business and then about 10 weeks later I went by that area and

it sparked my memory that I had broken a branch off one of those plants.

I was looking for that broken branch to see, you know, how dead it was.

I assumed it was going to be totally dead.
